Belligerator Gets Some Armor, and a Brain!

My new Gumstix showed up finally today. The compilation process on the toolchain is seriously slowing my bloggin right now, but I think it will be worth it. I played with it quite a bit, and can't believe how cool this thing is. While I plan on getting the 128meg MMC card so that I have some space for seriously large binaries (and maybe self-hosting GCC), I have 1.5 megs of free space right now to play with. It is unlikeIy that I will use it up for a while.

I also managed to finished the first chestplate. I used polycarbonate, so the robot is at least theoretically bulletproof. ;) Seriously though, I don't have to worry about the bot falling on something conductive, or sharp, and damaging the circuit board on the chest. I think that I will have to jam a blue LED in there just for aesthetic reasons...
